Cucamonga Basin #6 was designed as a multi-purpose flood control and groundwater recharge facility. While built for flood protection and water quality control, other goals of this multi-agency project included habitat restoration and creating open space recreation within the San Bernardino County Flood Control District.

The Farm is a working, living, and breathing, plus five acre, organic farm that provides education, outreach, and entertainment value as an extension of the organic farming operations at the Fairplex in Pomona. Funded partially by a grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture, part of the mission is the preservation and cultivation of California specialty crops.
