Richard Krumwiede, ASLA, RLA #2834
founder and president
Mr. Krumwiede is a hands on principal, who actively participates throughout all phases of Architerra projects. He conducts design development and administration on a wide range of projects including: parks, community master plan design, public schools, model homes, multi-family, and street projects.
He is experienced in the drought tolerant native trees and shrubs, low water use irrigation systems, and on-site water retention bio-basins and is always mindful of the aesthetic requirements of each and every project. He has delivered multiple presentations on water efficient landscaping at the ACWA (Association of California Water Agencies) conferences, as well as training various cities and home developers regarding the State’s Water Ordinance AB-1881.
He is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and recently finished serving as the President of the Southern California Chapter. Honors and Awards include numerous City Beautification Awards, as well as commendations for Model Home and Master Planned Community Designs. In 2007, he was awarded an ASLA Honor Award for garden design of his residence, located in the San Bernardino mountains. The property was also featured in the July 2007 issue of Sunset magazine.
He was born in Upland, California, and graduated from Cal Poly, Pomona with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 1984. He is currently licensed as a landscape architect in California (#2834), Arizona (#29115) Oregon (#841) and Nevada (#446).next
Gregg Denson, RLA #4302
director of design
As Director of Design, Mr. Denson is responsible for overseeing project design on all projects, from inception to completion. He as been involved with some of the firm’s most challenging projects and his diverse portfolio includes a multitude of successful collaborations with both private developers and public agencies.
As the leader our talented design team, he coordinates all project types including sustainable design, resource conservation, parks, specific plan developments for master planned communities, schools, mixed-use residential developments, trail planning, and open space preserve enhancement projects.
Mr. Denson has a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and provides more than 22 years of design experience to the firm. He is currently licensed as a landscape architect in California (#4302). He is also a native plant enthusiast who utilizes his own residence to study the growth characteristics and water requirements of California native plants.next
Jeff R Chamlee, ASLA, RLA #1736
director of production
As Director of Production, Mr. Chamlee oversees the work of the firm's project managers and technical staff on all of Architerra's numerous commercial, institutional, and residential development projects. He is charged with all project scheduling, quality control and the technical competency of construction drawings. In addition, his duties include client relations, design development, project coordination, project management and construction administration.
Mr. Chamlee brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in landscape architecture design and planning to Architerra. He is experienced in team management and operations, service expansions and quality improvements in a wide array of commercial, public and private settings. He has been the primary contributor on hundreds of projects involving master planning, facilities planning, site design and construction.
Mr. Chamlee has served as a consultant to several well-known landscape design firms and lectures regularly at UCLA. He is an ASLA member and a registered Landscape Architect in California.(#1736)next

Our firm is lead by three respected veteran landscape architects: President and founder Richard Krumwiede; Director of Design Gregg Denson; and Director of Production Jeff Chamlee – collectively with nearly 100 years of experience, at the highest levels of professionalism, dedication and service.
We are growing! Currently we have 16 full time landscape designers on staff, four of whom are licensed landscape architects. Our main office is located in Rancho Cucamonga, in the heart of the economically vibrant inland empire of southern california.
