ADG prepared two “typical” conceptual planting designs for the Huntington Drive Median as well as turf removal within the specified area, along with a retrofit and redesign of the existing median which had non-funtional turf that was replaced with an attractive water-saving landscape design. Overall the goal of the City was to conserve water while still having the median be aesthetically pleasing and low-maintenance. Design features included a bright, native and drought-tolerant planting palette, preservation of existing trees, and non-functional turf replacement.
