ADG prepared the conceptual design drawings, exhibits and cost estimates required to provide a conceptual project plan for the re-vegetation of the now southern section of the landfill. The re-vegetation consisted of California native plants indigenous to the areas surrounding the landfill site. Additionally, the landfill is interested in exploring, through the design process, the expansion of existing hiking trails from O’Melveny/Bee Canyon Park to the south, to overlook areas of the closed landfill.
The expansion of the trails provided a tangible benefit for the client, as money was already being paid as mitigation fees.
The overlook areas provided opportunities for interpretive signage aimed at educating the public about the landfill and how it is restoring the filled/closed areas to re-naturalize into the surrounding native ecosystem.
