The Farm at Fairplex

Winner of an ASLA Merit Award, The Farm is a working, living, and breathing, plus five acre, organic farm that provides education, outreach, and entertainment value as an extension of the organic farming operations at the Fairplex in Pomona. Funded partially by a grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture, part of the mission is the preservation and cultivation of California specialty crops.

In addition, as part of The Learning Center at the Fair, the Farm features a children’s garden agricultural education area for the onsite Childhood Development Center (CDC), urban farming, landscape design and horticulture training via the Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) along with an agriculture themed field trip destination for local school aged children. The farm also serves to provide farm to table crops for the Sheraton catering and restaurant supplier and features a “Farm to Table Dinner” event center. All the amenities and design serve as a centerpiece to the mission of the continuing agricultural exposition aspects for the Los Angeles County fair.
