The designs reflect the unique history and culture of the City while providing a flexible space to facilitate community gathering and remembrance. The Urban Plaza features water features, donor walls, monuments, custom lighting, and drought tolerant planting. The plaza's surface will be a combination of in-lay colored concrete paving and decomposed granite paving with concrete curb edges. Stone-veneered seat walls with concrete caps will offer seating options throughout the plaza. Ribbed paving indicators will slow down bicycle traffic at the entrances, and mortared cobble paving. Finally, permanent traffic safety bollards will prevent cars from entering the plaza through the alley.
